I was born and raised on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire with the fresh sea air in my lungs and the countryside on my doorstep. the middle of three sisters, I knew where to find all the mischief and with an active imagination I enjoyed writing short stories and poetry about all my adventures and each unique experience, entering every competition I could. I had my first poem published aged 12 and a further two during my high school years. I always wanted to write so I continued filling up pages of notebooks and the inside of handmade cards, enjoying giving a personal touch to all my friends and family. I wrote whenever I could.
my career path took me through different public services which I have found to be both rewarding and wholesome, I have a specific interest in the early years and emotional development within children. this keen interest soon manifested itself within my writing and the ‘Today I’m feeling…” series was born.
Writing the series was a fulfilling experience, which was filled with the love and support of my family, a special mention to my wonderful nieces who were key to the development of the books, and my husband who has put up with many a late hour of my brain ticking over. I am most creative whilst out walking in nature or led in bed at night. to get the series off the ground I decided, as a UCLAN Alumni, to reach out within the network and came across a fellow ALUMNI, Leanne Mansfield – this was the moment that the magic happened. I hope you enjoy Leo in his emotional development and enjoy watching your own child blossom whilst learning about themselves in a healthy and safe manner.
